DEPARTMENTS OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

To a large audience, the National Assembly revolves round the Legislators but in reality the bureaucrats or civil servants of the Assembly make the rotation happen. Without these set of people, the National Assembly will experience a total shutdown and probably go comatose. 
To better understand the workings of the National Assembly, it is important to have an idea of the various functionalities of departments, divisions and units of the National Assembly. EOTM is committed to making available this information, to allow a deeper understanding of the National Assembly. Part 4: The Vetoed Constitution Amendment Bill: 7th Assembly and GEJ

Welcome to the fourth episode of the Constitution amendment Bill vetoed by President Goodluck Jonathan. While the 8th Assembly enjoy their first recess, it is important to take a look at some highlights of the 7th Assembly. In the process of studying the simplified provisions of the failed amendment bill, one should consider the following questions; if this amendment bill was signed into law, would it have deepened our democracy? Would it have strengthened our institutions? Would it have reduced corruption? Would it have served the interest of the legislators better? How can the 8th Assembly improve on this? Today let us consider the proposed amendments to the Nigerian Legislature.
